Changelog
What is new in each PageTree release, the latest first. Each item links to the page that details it. For the update procedure and what to watch for, see Upgrading.
2.6.0
Latest release. Requires October CMS 4.4.2 or later.
- Reserved pages: the Access tab of a page reserves it to groups of RainLab.User users, for the pages below it too. Refused visitors see the 404 page, the sign in page or a page of the theme; reserved pages are left out of their menus and of the sitemap.
- Block audience: a block can be shown to everyone, guests only, signed in users only or some groups.
- Visibility popup of a block: Displayed on the site, display dates (From, Until) and audience, also opened from the clock and users icons of the block list and from the clock button of the website edit mode.
- The pages are translated with the translation of October CMS (one language per site) instead of RainLab.Translate; the update copies the existing translations. See Upgrading.
- Trash: a deleted page goes to the trash with its translations and its history; the trash shows when and by whom it was deleted, restores it or deletes it permanently.
- Two editors on the same page: the Editor refuses to save over a page changed since it was opened, in another tab or in the website edit mode.
- The Editor preview renders the CMS component blocks like the website.
- Plugin hooks for blocks: plugins add fields to every block form, change the rendering and the HTML of the blocks and load assets in the editors, without patching PageTree.
- Pages by code:
Page::createWithBlocks()creates a page with its blocks from a seeder or a console command. - Maintenance page: a PageTree page can be the maintenance page of October CMS.
- Fixes: the menu links to PageTree pages include the route prefix of the site; the maintenance mode no longer fails when no theme page is chosen; the plugin scripts and stylesheets are versioned, so browsers no longer keep outdated copies after an update; the Editor reopens its tabs without reloading their previews several times, a hidden tab rendering its preview when it is shown; in the website edit mode, the page beside the pinned panel and the tablet and mobile previews scroll again with themes that clip the overflow of
body.
2.5.0
- Custom blocks stored in the theme (
pagetree/blocks/<code>.htm), versioned and deployed with it; database storage deprecated. See Custom blocks. - Block templates in the theme (
partials/pagetree/blocks/) and the Block templates section of the Editor. See Block styles. - Dynamic pages: URLs with parameters (
/blog/:slug,:page?,:id|^[0-9]+$,:path*), read by the blocks withthis.paramand by CMS components with{{ :slug }}. - Custom block data sources filtered by a URL parameter, single record sources and the 404 page when nothing matches. See Custom blocks.
- Preview with… in the preview toolbar: values of the URL parameters for the preview and for Open page. See Dynamic pages.
- SEO of dynamic pages:
{{ post.title }}and{{ :slug }}tokens, Use for the page SEO option, title and meta changed by CMS components. See SEO. - Language selector in the Editor document header: a page is translated as a whole, in the current tab only. See The Editor.
- Customize the template of a CMS component block: its partials are copied to the theme. Theme overrides in
partials/<component code>/now work. See CMS components as blocks. - SEO check in the SEO settings of a page: scores the page displayed in the preview on the meta lengths, the headings, the image alternative texts, the link texts and the word count.
- Accessibility: Decorative image option, video title, captions and transcript, heading level of the Cards, Questions / answers, Files and Call to action blocks, readable text on colored and dark backgrounds, screen reader texts.
- The Editor block list, the add block popup, the icon picker, the block fields builder and the nested blocks field can be used with the keyboard.
- Disable the PageTree default blocks setting, to offer only your own blocks. The settings are split into three tabs. See Permissions and settings.
- Fixes: the page form no longer crashes when the page template has no configuration; in the nested blocks field, editing a block after reordering no longer changes another block; the preview mode list of the Edit Configuration popup no longer overflows; the translate popup of a blocks field now fills the window.
2.4.0
